i. <br />7291.3 <br />A RBSOLUTIOR APPOmTING JOHN R. GKRHARDSOII <br />AS ACTING ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />WHEREAS, City Administrator Mark E. Bernhardson has <br />given notice to Council of his resignation effective July 26^ <br />1991, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has estabished an <br />Administrative and Personnel Policyr and <br />WHEREAS, Section 102 City Council Authority Subd 2 gives <br />the Administrator authority to appoint an Acting Administrator <br />from existing staff, and <br />WHEREAS, Council approved a Letter of Authority/Acting <br />Administrator appointing John R. Gerhardson as Acting <br />Administrator at the February 24, 1986 Council meeting which <br />outlines his responsibilities as follows: <br />OPERATIONS “ Insure that the continued City operations <br />of all departments continue. You have the authority to <br />work with Department Heads to make appropriate <br />operational decisions and insure continunity of <br />operations. <br />REPRESENTATIVE AT MEETINGS - Attend meetings that <br />require attendance anJ act In those meetings including, <br />but not limited to, regular weekly staff meetings, one <br />on one Department Head meetings and Council meetings. <br />POLICY DIRECTION - Work with CounciImembers to develop <br />needed policy direction in which a conclusion is to be <br />reached in a timely manner. <br />SIGNATURES - Pursuant to authority granted by the City <br />Council you have the authority to sign documents that <br />require the City Administrator's action or signature <br />together with signature of appropriate checks, provided <br />that the other required signatures are provided.
