S <br />TO* Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Mark E, Bernhardson^ City Administrate^/ <br />DATBs July 1, 1991 <br />SDBJBCTs Acting Administrator <br />\<>,v <br />Attachment: A.Draft Resolution Regarding Appointment of <br />Acting Administrator by Council <br />B.Administrative and Personnel Rules 102 <br />% <br />ISSUE - Determination of acting administrator appointment <br />FoTTowing effective resignation date of the current city <br />adminietrator. <br />INTRODUCTION - Attachment A represents a draft for the <br />appointment of John Gerhardson to the position of acting <br />administrator. <br />DISCUSSION - As noted in Attachment B, when there is no <br />administrator the acting administrator is an appointment by the <br />Mayor with the cc*'currence of the Council. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1.Appoint. <br />2.Amend and adopt. <br />3.Table for further discussion. <br />RECOMMEND ATI ON - It is recommended that the resolution proposed <br />be adopted by Council appointing John Gerhardson as the acting <br />administrator. while I was City Administrator I have the <br />authority to appoint the acting administrator, however, when I am <br />no longer city administrator the acting administrator is <br />appointed by Council as noted in Attachment B. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by _, seconded by _, that Council adopt <br />Resolution #_ appointing John Gerhardson as the acting <br />administrator for the City of Orono until a new administrator <br />assumes the position.
