?!■) <br />■5A <br />fef <br />5\ <br />R" <br />M,v <br />J- <br />5 ’:-\ <br />*. <br />r <br />f?- <br />'(;■■i <br />¥f-I <br />'i. <br />t:-- V <br />Position Profile <br />-5- <br />•Work with the fire contract communities to negotiate fire services for Orono for the <br />coming years. <br />*Establish a community identity given the tact that the community is in three <br />school districts and has seven zip codes. <br />•Complete the discussion and implement the settlement of the annexation issue <br />between the Cities of Long Lake and Orono. <br />•Examine City staffing needs to determine need for additional staff <br />•Deal with the issue of the development of lakeshore properties and the diverse zoning <br />along the lakeshore. <br />•Examine the feasibility of establishing an employee recoge on program <br />•Examine the need for conducting a community survey and determine citizens' needs. <br />•Update the transportation policy of the community in order to effectively address the <br />issues of public versus private roads. <br />•Assist the Council in establishing a redevelopment policy, particularly for <br />residential areas. <br />Assist in developing a storm water management and utilities plan for the City, <br />particularly as it relates to the use of shoreland and properties along the lake. <br />Review the City’s recycling efforts and determine the need for expansion and <br />greater participation. <br />Aanouacewent <br />City Administrator - Orono, MN (Pop. 7,300). Starting salary J5I.000 - $56,000. <br />Located in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities on Lake Minnetonka. Report to <br />Mayor (2-year term) and four member Council (4-year term). Supervise 40 full-time <br />employees and manage a general fund budget of $3.2 million. Provide standard <br />municipal services plus police contractual services to adjacent cities and contract for fire <br />services with several fire districts. Req. B.A. degree (M.A. preferred) in public or <br />business administration, plus a minimum of 5-7 years experience in a responsible <br />municipal management position with particular experience in public works operations, <br />parks maintenance and land use development.
