Such an oxtons...or. .Tiay oo oenclicia.^ <br />to both communities, Hennepin Cou“ty and tne Department of <br />Transportation, <br />Airport Facilities <br />There are no airport facilities, proposed airport sites, <br />search areas, or other facilities located in Maple Plain. <br />Even though thero are no aviation facilities located in <br />Maple Plain, any development affecting navigable airspace <br />within tho community is subject to tho Minnesota Department <br />of Transportation regulations concerning instructions to <br />navigable airspace. (Gee 14 MC<VR 1.3009. CRITERIA I'OR <br />DETERMINING OBSTRUCTIONS TO AIR NAVIGATION). These <br />regulations provide that anyone proposing construction or <br />alterations which would exceed 300 feet in height above tno <br />ground level at the site shall notify the Commissioner of <br />the Minnesota Department of Transportation at least 30 days <br />in advance as required by Aeronautics Rule 14 MCAR 1.3009, <br />Subdivision C; and shall present a certified copy of such <br />notification to tho city at least ten (10) days before any <br />building pex*mit is issued. <br />Transportation Po 1 icior. <br />1. Minimise and limit access points onto ..-terial to <br />points of adequate distance between inv vsections <br />2. Require proper visibility, design, and control of ail <br />intersections to prevent accidents and violations. <br />3. Require that all new development or expansion of <br />existing development includes adequate off-street <br />parking. <br />Where possible, provide bicyclists a right-of-way <br />separated from both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. <br />Require that new development dictate streets in such <br />locations that they fit the transjortation plan of-the <br />city and create a logical street system or extensions <br />as the case may be. <br />All future structures which will exceed 300 feet in <br />height shall follow the procedures set forth in <br />14 MCAR 1.3009, CRITERIA FOR DETERMINING OBSTRUCTIONS <br />TO AIR NAVIGATION prior to approval of a permit by the <br />city of Map 1.0 Plain. <br />Page 12
