Establish a screening date for narrowing the number <br />of liniTists for the Police Chief from 10 to 15 down to 5 to 7 <br />hasod on written reports from Sathe and Associates. <br />Issue #2 - Determine which Counci Imembers are to serve on this <br />committee. <br />INTRODUCTION - At Council’s May 28, 1991 Council meeting Council <br />authorized inviting representatives from each of the 3 contract <br />communities to send a representative for the preliminary <br />screening committee. However, there was not an appointment of <br />CounciImembers to serve on this screening committee. <br />DISCUSSION - <br />Issue #1 Date for Pre1iminary Screening - Tentatively <br />foTTowfng date has been set for that; <br />the <br />7:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 2, 1991 <br />If another date is preferable, please let me know as soon a <br />possible so that we may amend that date. <br />Issue 12 - Selection of CounciImembers to serve on the committee. <br />€ur'rentTy~ we are waiting to hear as to rep resen tati ves from each <br />of the three cities. As noted on May 28th in addition to Orono <br />City Council and representatives from the other 3 councils, I <br />will be part of the panel and also am selecting John Gerhardson <br />as the department head representative. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1.
