Mr. Mark Bernh irdson. 5/15/91, Page 2 <br />LMCD has had a moratorium on new or expansions to <br />multiple dock licenses since 1/31/90 which runs <br />through 1/31/92. Any change that might impact land <br />use, such as parking due to an expansion, is <br />promptly called to the affected city s attention <br />during the application process. We do not address <br />such issues as landscaping. <br />Specific Orono Land Use/Zoning Requirements: <br />1, North Shore Drive Marina <br />A.Encroachment concerns to the Millard property <br />appear to have been resolved per a 7/26/84 Ron <br />Millard letter, copy enclosed. We have had no <br />recent complaints indicating there is a <br />problem. <br />B.Slips licensed by the marina are summarized per <br />our 3/19/91 outline, enclosed. The discrepancy <br />we identify is that in 1989 four transient <br />slips were reported as renta 1/storage slips. <br />That is a correction we are requiring the <br />marina to make this year. They are to have six <br />transient (for daytime use only) and six <br />service (limited temporary overnight storage <br />for boats in for service which can be verified <br />by a work order) slips. The balance of changes <br />to their licenses are as noted on the summary. <br />These changes are supported by Board action as <br />noted. <br />2. Lakeside Marina: <br />A.Citizen complain** ' earning floating dock <br />extensions have been reviewed with the <br />licensee. Corrections on lighting, fencing, <br />placement of reflective material during winter <br />months were made by the licensee. Some <br />floating fragments from the styrofoam material <br />have not been resolved. LMCD is looking into <br />the styrofoam material as to its durability for <br />dock use. Apparently there are also different <br />qualities and densities of materiel which <br />affect its durability. This is a relatively <br />new experience for use on the lake. <br />B.LMCD is not aware of nor has it licensed any... <br />multiple docks for non-adjacent lakeshore lots <br />owned by the marina.
