REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD APRIL 8, 1991 <br />(§15)CITY COMMUNICATIONS <br />It was moved by Callanan, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to <br />table this item. All voted ave. Motion passed. <br />(#16)LNCD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />Bernhardson reported tliat the date April 10, 1991, has <br />been canceled, apid will be rescheduled. He also presented <br />Council with a position paper, relative to the surface use aspect <br />of the LMCD's Comprehensivr Plan, that the City could adopt an <br />transmit to the other cities. <br />Callahan indicated to Bernhardson that he and Counciimember <br />Jabbour would like to discu.ss the paper with h;m before it is <br />prepared in final form and transmitted. <br />Council took no action on this item. <br />(#17)POLICE CHIEF SELECTION PROCESS <br />Bernhardson provided Council with the proposals submitted <br />from firms \/lshing to assist with the City's Police Chief <br />selection process. Me recommended inviting throe of the <br />consultants (Labor Relations Associates, Public Management <br />Consultants and Sathe i Associates) to appear before the Council <br />for an interview, and suggested meeting M.jnday, April li, at 5 00 <br />p.m <br />Council agreed v/ith B.-*rnhardson recommendation, incl iding <br />the meeting date of Monday, April 15, 1991, at 5:00 p.m. <br />(#18)STUBB*S BAY SEWER <br />Todd and Marie Ziesmer were present. <br />Callahan suggested that a citizen’s committee should bo <br />formed to address this issue. He thought it may be appropriate <br />to ask Sherokee Use to Chair tlie c<immittee, which should be <br />comprised of persons that are in favor of the project, as vt/ell as <br />those that are opposed. Ha said, "Thr.s committee will make a <br />writt«an report to the Planning Commission. The repo»*t will <br />decide the general scope of the project and the alternatives <br />listed in order of priority. The committee should also make a <br />recommendation pertaining to the bost mtathod of financing the <br />project. Tha Planning Commission can then review the report and <br />make a recommendation to Council." <br />Mayor Peterson asked Callahan if he had talked to Sherokee <br />Use about her partxcipation with a citizen's committee. <br />Callahan stated that he hrid not asked Sherokee, but had <br />recommended her because she takes an active part in City affairs. <br />He added that Sherokee lives in the Stubbs Bay sewer area, but <br />that, as he understands it, her property is not in need of sewer. <br />Callahan stated that Sherokee could have a more objective <br />- 21 -
