Each manager has <br />assumed responsibility for providing periodic, face-to-face communications for a number of cities. Liaisons <br />were al c-tablished with the county contmissioners in both Hennepin and CaiAer counties. (More iitformation <br />is on page two.) <br />The District has also revitalized its Citizen .Advisory Conunillee. .Adveilisettieiits were placed in local papers <br />seekrtig volunleeis for the advisory body and l\\cnly-si.\ people responded. They reside tit cottununtlres across <br />the District and their backgrounds range from intereslcil citizerr to several v\ith teclrnical b.ickgtounds lel.ited to <br />hvdrolocv and the errviromrrcm. (More iitfiMination is below. ) <br />Our nvw administrator is being hired with conununiiy involvement as well, bifonn^'ion was sought from our <br />stakeholders before creating the position profile and interested parties have been invited to meet the final <br />candidates. The Board belie\ es it is vital that any new administrator be someone who can work eflectis ely with <br />member cities’ staff and elected officials as well as agencies and citizen groups. <br />Wc invite your conuncius and questions. Brimeyer Group of <br />Hopkins created a Position Profile. This was done by <br />incoiporating ide. s gathered from MCWD staff. Mayors <br />or City Managers of member cities. County Board. County <br />staflf. the Department of Natural Rcvources. the Lake <br />Minnetonka Conserv ation District, the Board of Water and <br />Soil Resources, and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation <br />Board. <br />The opening wa-, announced in go\ emmeni and regional <br />magazines, newsletters and newspapers. It generated 180 <br />inquiries and 54 applications. Onf)ctober 7. 1998. <br />Brimeyer Group presented eight candidate applications for <br />the MCWD Board of Managers to rev iew.
