ORDINANCE # 175.2ND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AN INTERIM MORATORIUM <br />ON THE GRANTING OF <br />CREDITS ALLOWING A 50% INCREASE <br />IN DWELLING UNIT DENSITY <br />IN THE LR-lC-1 DISTRICT <br />The City Council of Orono does ordain: <br />SECTION 1. Statement oi Policy. The purpose of Orono Municipal Code Ciapter 10 is to provide <br />for the orderly development of residential properties so as not to unreasonably conflict with the <br />current residential character of the City. The City is concerned that its current regulations in Section <br />10.26, Subd. 3 related to a credit allov^ing a 50% increase in dwelling unit density and the LR-lC-l <br />zoning district are rot adequate to ensure this. <br />SECTION 2. Interim Moratorium. The City needs time to conduct a study to determine whether <br />new regulations are needed; and, if so, to develop and adopt new regulations. To enable time for tliis <br />process, the City Council finds it necessary to impose a 190 day moratorium pursuant to Minnesota <br />Statute Section 469.355, Subdivision 4, on the granting of applications pursuant to Section 10.26, <br />Subd. 3 in the LR-lC-1 District. <br />SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be effective as of May 11, 1998. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono on this 11th day of May, 1998, by a vote of <br />ayes and 0 nays. <br />ATTEST: <br />(/jl <br />Linda S.
