I ! <br />■ <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER 28.1998 <br />County Road 15 during certain times of the day. <br />(tf 18 Bonestroo Associates • County Road 15 Study, continued) <br />Mayor Jabbour stated the study \vill help the City determine what is do-able. <br />Flint commented he would like to see a broader proposal that addresses the whole picture, <br />It was the concensus of the City Council that the study should address the whole issue. <br />Peterson moved, Flint seconded, to authorize Bonestroo & Associates to continue with <br />their analysis of County Road 15. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(#19) CITY FACILITIES ROOF REPAIR <br />Mayor Jabbour stated he has spoken with the builder and architect about the roof leak problems <br />experienced on the Cit>' Hall and City Council Chambers. <br />Gappa stated ice builds up on the roof and freezes which needs to be removed and drained properly. <br />Gappa remarked they will be taking pictures of the roof in case of a dispute down the road, noting <br />the original builders are out of business. Gappa stated this problem needs to be corrected soon before <br />major damage is done. <br />Flint moved, Goetten seconded, to authorize roof repairs on the City facilities at an <br />estimated cost of $60,000.00, to be funded from the Building Capital Outlay Fund, and to <br />amend the Building Capital Outlay Fund budget to reflect this expenditure. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT <br />(*«20) APPOINTMENT OF 1998 GENERAL ELECTION JUDGES - RESOLUTION <br />NO. 4170 <br />Goetten moved, Peterson seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 4170, a Resolution <br />Appointing Election Judges for the General Election to be Held November 3,1998. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(«21) ANIMAL IMPOUND FACILITY <br />Moorsc stated the Wright County Animal Shelter located cast of Delano will be closing down in <br />the near future and the City of Orono is actively seeking another facility to meet the City's needs. <br />Moorsc reported the Humane Society is planning to build a new facility just w est of Rockford <br />which w ill not meet the City's needs regarding case of access. One possible site is the building <br />that formerly housed the Orono Police Department located on Willow Drive in Long Lake. <br />Page 16
