CALENDAR YEAR 1999 <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Livable Communities Act (Mmne^ta Statutes <br />tn 47“? 254'i establishes a Metropolitan Livable Communities Fund which is mtended to address <br />o" elopmen, issues facing .he metropolitan area deftned by MinnesoU Smm.es <br />Section 473.121; and <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Livable Communities Fund, comprising the T« B^e <br />Revitalization accoi.nt, the Livable Communities Demonstration Account and the Local Housing <br />Incentive Account, is intended to provide certain funding arsd other assistance to metropolitan area <br />municipalities; and <br />WHEfCEAS, a metropolitan area municipality is not eligible to receive 8”^“ ^ <br />the Metropolitan Livable Communities Fund or eligible to receive certmn polluted <br />Lding f^m the Minnesota Department of Trade and Economic <br />^nicipality is participating in the Local Housing Incentives Account Program under die Minnesota <br />Statutes Section 473.254; and <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Livable Communities Act required ^e Metropolitan <br />,0 negcdaVe ^h each munici^li.y to establish affordable and life-cycle housing gods for the <br />munidpality that are consistent with and promote the policies of the Metropolitan Council as <br />provided in the adopted Metropolitan Development guide; and <br />WHEREAS, each municipality must identify to the Metropolitan Council <br />municipality plans to take to meet the esmblished housing goals through preparation of Housing <br />Action Plan; and <br />WHEREAS; the Metropolitan Council adopted, by resolution after a public hearing, <br />negotiated affordable vnd life-cycle housing goals for each participating mumcipa i y, an <br />Page I of2
