A protest to your Council Resolution #3903
Mr. Gabriel Jabbour and city council memberst
We write this letter to express our protest and
dissatisfaction in your approval of the building
being constructed on the site of 3115 North Shore
Drive. Your City of Orono council resolution #3903*
The building should be in harmony with adjacent land.
This struc.ture violates this rule, espioiMlynoAhtheaet
east.side. We strongly suggest you visit the site.
Our visit to the council meeting, when this building
was discussed, revealed that a story and a half home
was under consideration. No approval was given at
this meeting. Subsequent to this open meeting, no
public hearing was held, however, approval of a
two story building was approved.
The building site has setbacks of four feet on the
east side and less than three feet of hard surface
on the west aide. These approved variances are flagrant.
Fire and police services are totally impaired unless
accomplished by trec:>ass and encroachment. The
"privilage** which we adjacent land owners properly
provide to emergency services is not featured in
your approval of this building site. We then, are
improperly burdened with this service. This buiding
approval can hardly be considered a hardship
justification. It is purely a real estate venture to
exploit lake frontage at the expense and displeasure
of adjacent property owners.
page 1
m
■ ■■riiBi I ■■ 11 111 - ' 1 ' 1^1 A..- V.' -r ^ -■-.1 Ad I amm. . «^i>i ’H’r- ..
