Obtain a housing market study and needs analysis that identifies the <br />types of housing that will be demanded in Orono's rural area in the <br />future. <br />D. Lakeshore development/redevelopment. <br />1. Clarify the Council's vision and identify and prioritize the Council's <br />objectives in relation to lakeshore development. <br />a. Some objectives are as follows: <br />1) Protection of Lake Minnetonka. <br />2) Preservation of the current extent of the natural open <br />uncrowded character of the shoreline (minimize the massing <br />of houses as viewed from the lake). <br />b. Maintain a range of lot and house sizes. <br />c. Protect existing homes from negative impacts of development/ <br />redevelopment, i.e. height and massing of new houses. <br />£. Navarre commercial area. <br />1. Develop a vision and objectives related to the future of the Navarre <br />commercial area. <br />a. Clarify/determine the scale and character of commercial development <br />desired. <br />2.Action. <br />II. <br />a. Obtain input fi-om the Navarre commercial area business/property <br />owners regardii^ their views of the future of the Navarre commercial <br />area. <br />Housing. Determine whether there are opportunities for the City to address life cycle <br />housing needs. <br />A. There are three potential areas for different housing options.
