^ IA * i <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETlW <br />HELD MARCH 25, 1991 8 Jim <br />ROLL CALL: <br />The Council met on the above date with the follo'vTxTic <br />present: Mayor Barbara Peterson, CounciImembers J. <br />Goetten, Edward Callahan, Gabriel Jabbour and Mary Butler. The <br />following represented the City Staff: City Administrator Mark <br />Bernhardson, Public Works Director John Gorhardson, City Attorney <br />Thomas Barrett, City Engineer Glenn Cook, and City Recorder <br />Laurie Scheffler. Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at <br />7:00 p.m. <br />(«1)PUBLIC HEARING-CDBG YEAR XVII ALLOCATION <br />The Affidavit of Publication was duly noted, <br />Peterson opened the Public Hearing at 7:00 p.m. <br />and Mayor <br />Bernhardson listed the organizations to which Community <br />Development Block Grant monies would be allocated and stated the <br />amount each is proposed to receive. He explained that the <br />allocations, totaling $26,175, could be re-distributed among the <br />organizations listed subsequent to the Public Hearitg being <br />closed if there is citizen input so requesting. Bernhardson <br />added that it would be necessary to hold another Publi.: Hearing <br />if there is a request to allocate CDBG monies to an organization <br />or category not currently listed. <br />Mayor Peterson closed the Public Hearing at 7:02 p.m. She <br />explained that persons present on behalf of the organizations <br />listed may wish to hear the motion before making any comments. <br />It was moved by Butler, seconded by Goetten, to adopt <br />Resolution #2944 allocating CDBG funds as follows: <br />Interfaith Outreach <br />Westonka Intervention <br />Westonka Community Action <br />Westonka Community Action <br />Housing Rehabilitations <br />$ 2,500 <br />1,000 <br />400 <br />1,200 <br />21,075 <br />Dale Woodbecx, representing the i^estonka Community Action <br />Network, took this opportunity to present t *e City with updated <br />information about that organization, and thanked the Council for <br />their support. Motion, Ayes-5. Nays-0. Motion passed. <br />(#2)PUBLIC HEARING-NAVARRE HEIGHTS DRAINAGE <br />Mayor Peterson re-convened the Public Hearing on the Navarre <br />Heights Drainage at 7:03 p.m., and the Affidavit of Publication <br />was duly noted. <br />Bernhardson provided a brief explanation of why this matter <br />had been previously tabled. He stated that a letter had been <br />received by the City on the date of the last scheduled Public <br />- 1 -
