PACT is based on the principle that low-income people <br />axe the best ones to identify what their needs are, how best to meet <br />those* needs, and how service delivery can become more efficient, <br />effscti**e and hunane. The WeCAN staff and board works with the PACT <br />gioup to help the recipients of comnunity assistance determine what it <br />is that they need to get out of poverty and crisis conditions and how to <br />best inprove the delivery of that assistance* <br />• This year WeCRN plans to begin a comprehensive survey of the city's <br />housing stock as part of our project to develop a Housing Affordability <br />Strategic Plan. <br />* This year WeCMI plans to ijiplement financial counseling and nutrition <br />programs for loiir’inoome residents. <br />Mi believe that MsCMI provides important services to the city of Orono and tl <br />wider oonminity of Westonka. He have accomplished a great deal in the past <br />year# thanks in part to the support of comnunity^inded cities like Orono . <br />But there is much sore to acocmplish. Although %ie remain a volunteer <br />organisation, we now have a paid, professional director who provides the <br />direction and leadership required to increase our organizations's efficiency <br />and effeetivensss* <br />Mi appreciate your consideration of our request and thank you for your <br />continued support. He plan to attend your public hearing on CDBG Year XVII <br />fund allocations in order to provide you with additional infomatlon on ^r <br />proposal. Please notify us of your hearing date.
