ft- <br />1; <br />P <br />Bardcover/Iolpervious Surface Requirements. <br />No hardcover or impervious surface shall be <br />allowed within 75 feet of a lakeshore except for <br />needed public facilities and those itep'.s allowed <br />as exceptions under Subdivision 2. <br />The overall hardcover/impervious surface for all <br />lots in the defined shore land area shall not <br />exceed 25% in total or not over 25% of the portion <br />of the lot that is in the defined shore land area <br />whichever is more restrictive. <br />The following represent items which <br />considered impervious surfaces: <br />are not <br />1) <br />2) <br />Wood chips and loose clean landscape rock <br />when no plastic or fabric underliner is used. <br />Non~cemented shoreline rip-rap. <br />All other items apart from natural vegetation are <br />considered hardcover/impervious surface. <br />Screening and Vegetation Requirements. <br />For construction of roads, driveways, septic <br />systems and other improvements on steep slopes, <br />soil erosion and impact on existing screening from <br />the public waters must be minimized. The City <br />requires a staff permit prior to construction of <br />such facilities. <br />No live tree within 75 feet of the shoreline with <br />a diameter of six inches or more (or 19 inches in <br />circumference) measured 3 feet above the ground <br />may be removed without first obtaining a permit <br />from the City staff provided that at least a like <br />number of replacement trees of a size and nature <br />found acceptable to the staff are planted. <br />Appeals of staff determinations as to type, size <br />and quality of the trees to be replaced will be to <br />the Planning Cosinission and Council. (Source <br />Ordinance 26, 2nd Series adopted July 14, 1986 as <br />revised in this draft) <br />Clear cutting of vegetation on riparian lots <br />within 75 feet of the shoreline is prohibited <br />without a permit from the City staff. No cutting <br />will be allowed which reduces screening of motor <br />vehicles, dwellings and other structures when <br />viewed from the lakes.
