! ■ <br />I r • .Ti fr <br />1^ <br />< i I <br />u \ <br />» w <br />\ <br />Re; Interview for City Council Member <br />Dear <br />As an individual who has expressed interest in the vacancy on <br />the City Council created by the election of Barbara Peterson as <br />Mayor, I would like to invite you to the Council's Monday, <br />January 28, 1991 meeting to be interviewed. <br />The interview will consist of any introductory comments you <br />may desire to make regarding yourself and your background in the <br />position together with responses to the following questions. <br />1.What interests you in serving as a member of the Orono <br />City Council? <br />2* What attributes do you possess that would be of benefit <br />to the City of Orono as a CounciImeraber? <br />3. Attached is a copy of the Council's 1990-91 Goal Setting <br />plus the City Administrator's 1991 Goal Setting. Please <br />respond as to your thinking on the following items; <br />- Highway 12 corridor development <br />- Long term street and transportation planning <br />- Facilities needs <br />- Lake Use and Management <br />- Cooperation with other municipalities <br />- Long term organizational planning <br />- Council/Planning Commission responsibilities and <br />relationship <br />4* What areas do you feel are important for the Council to <br />focus on for the rest of 1991 and for 1992. <br />Due to the election of Barbara Peterson as Mayor, her Council <br />position which was a 4 year term starting January 1989 will be up <br />for election November 1992. The appointee will fill the vacancy <br />from date of appointment through the end of 1992. The individual <br />appointed can file for election for an open position in November <br />1992. In addition to the election for this terror another four <br />year Council position and the two year Mayoral term will be on <br />the November 1992 ballot. <br />Prior to the meeting on Monday, January 28, 1991, you will be <br />notified of an approximate time to appear at the Council meeting. <br />Sincerely, <br />Mark E.
