' J . <br /> 1 O ♦O <br /> C ITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> � � <br /> 6448 <br /> � <br /> �' G N O. <br /> jqKES H��� <br /> A RESOLUTION <br /> GRANTING VARIANCES <br /> FROM ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> SECTIONS 78-350 and 78-1685 <br /> FILE NO. 14-3679 <br /> WHEREAS, Thomas E. Ziegler and Katherine W. Ziegler, a married couple, <br /> (hereinafter "Applicants") are the owners of the property located at 2264 Shadywood Road <br /> within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as: Lot 5, Block 1, <br /> "Wiley's Park" Lake Minnetonka, Hennepin County, Minnesota (hereinafter "the <br /> Property"); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicants have made application to the City for a variance <br /> from Orono City Code Section 78-350 which requires a 15-foot side street setback to permit <br /> construction an addition to the home 12 feet from the side street proeprty line; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicants have made application to the City for a vairance <br /> from Orono City Code Section 78-1685 to allow constrcution of a 145 square foot addition to <br /> the home and construction of a 144 square foot shed resulting in 16.9% structural coverage, <br /> 242 square feet over the allowed 15% structural coverage level; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due published notice and mailed notice in accordance with <br /> Minnesota Statutes and the Orono, Minnesota, City Code, the Orono Planning Commission <br /> held a public hearing on August 18, 2014, at which times all persons desiring to be heard <br /> concerning this application were given the opportunity to speak thereon. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br /> Minnesota: <br /> FINDINGS � <br /> 1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #14-3679. <br /> 2. The Property is located in the LR-1 C zoning district, where 0.5 acres is the <br /> minimum lot area and 100 feet is the minimum defined lot width. <br /> 3. The Planning Commission reviewed this application on August 18, 2014 On <br /> August 18, the Planning Commission voted on two separate motions: <br /> i. Recommendation to approve the setback and structural coverage <br /> variances for the addition to the home. This motion passed with a vote of 6 <br /> in favor and 0 opposed. <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br />
