9 <br />t <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SCHOOL BOARD OF ORONO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 278 HELD ON JULY 21, 1992 <br />A special meeting of the School Board of Orono Independent School District No. <br />278 was held on Tuesday, July 21, 1992 at 4:30 p.m. <br />Present: Dave McKown <br />Don Anderson <br />John Maresh <br />Peg Swanson <br />Thomas Mich <br />Neal Lawson <br />Absent: Jim Franklin <br />Martha Van de Ven <br />UPON MOTION by John Maresh, seconded by Peg Swanson, the consent agenda was <br />approved as follows: <br />- approved the appointment of Mary Lou Doherty as a fourth grade teacher at <br />Schumann Elementary School for the 1992-93 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of John Avaloz as a teacher in the ungraded area <br />at Schumann Elementary School for the 1992-93 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Paul Sladek as a fourth grade teacher at <br />Schumann Elementary School for the 1992-93 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Sherri Jenkins as a teacher in the ungraded <br />area at Schumann Elementary School for the 1992-93 school year. <br />Motion carried. <br />Dr. Mich reported that summer maintenance projects are on schedule as well as <br />work on the PER report, calendar, policy books, and curriculum; that four new <br />elementary teachers were approved in the consent agenda, selected from 980 <br />applicants; that Or. Carl Shutts, high school principal, arrived on July C; that <br />District Office staff will be at an all day computer training class on July 29; <br />that the administrative retreat will be held on August 18 and 19; that on August <br />20 the annual picnic ••'ll be held for summer workers and he invited Board mem­ <br />bers to attend; that on August 28 there will be an orientation day for new <br />teachers and workshop begins on August 31. <br />UPON MOTION by John Maresh, seconded by Peg Swanson, the Board of Education <br />adopted the following resolution regarding the School District cafeteria plan: <br />WHEREAS, Indepe-'cent School District No. 278 (Orono) (the "School <br />District") adopted the Orono School District Cafeteria Plan (the "Plan") <br />effective July 1, 198S; <br />the Plan; <br />WHEREAS, the Srhool Dis. t desires to make certain amendments to <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Plan is hereby amended and <br />restated effective July 1, 1992 to read as set forth in the document titled <br />1
