UHFIMISHED BUSINESS <br />a) Update on Channel 6 Reception Concern <br />Daniels stated tnat the suo-standard service is still an ongo.ng situation, <br />however Channel 6 nas just appointed a new Oeneral Manager, Chucx ilocum. Daniels <br />then asked Nazarow for nis report. <br />Nazarow explained tne route the signal is received and intormea tne <br />Coeeission that Triax pays 0200/month to carry Channel 6. He recommended a <br />revision to the distribution route. Equipment costs tor this would oe <br />approximately S6615 and I-net reconstruction would be an estimated sie.OOO. Thu <br />would be with no guarantees ot better reception. <br />Daniels stated that he feels that there are two options open to the <br />Commission: <br />1. Forcing Triax to repair it. <br />2. Not forcing compliance and listing it "commercially impracticable". <br />However, Daniels said that with tneir new General Manager the situation <br />should be put on hold so that he can make contact and initiate a discussion. <br />Pattrin asxed how soon this will take place. Daniels stated that he feels a <br />couple of weeks should be given to then to become acquainted with tne situation. <br />b) Status of Studio Equipment Replacement <br />Daniels stated that Triax has complied with the direction of the Commission. <br />Brancel then asxed tnat the original notion be rescinded. <br />Motion 8,18.92.4 Salazar moved that motion 6.16.92.4 be rescinded. Olds <br />seconded. Motion passed unanieously. <br />c) Task Force Report on Office/Studio Relocation <br />Pattrin explained that the function of the Task Force was to assist Xriax <br />finding an acceptable location. <br />He then stated that the Committee recommends the site of the old <br />building in Excelsior. Nazarow concurred with Pattrin as to the idealness <br />location. The costs would be approximately S2,200 to connect the <br />the rent and operational expenses (including heat and electrical) <br />with a five year lease. Triax will redo the studio area and is <br />lease the office portion to the Commission with an exact copy <br />lease. Nazarow then asxed what footage the Commission was willing to pay for. <br />Daniels stated that out of the 2100 square feet the Commission would like <br />office space, however, feels that the Commission will have to put a ceiling on the <br />costs that the Commission will pay for rent.
