He noted that the governmental agencies are in the process <br />of revamping the regulations governing above-ground tanks. <br />Jabbour asked if Keeie would recommend fiberglass versus steel. <br />Keete said he would. <br />Jabbour a'.ked about eco ogical effects. <br />l.wttie explained that the tanks underground are no longer a single <br />tank. <br />Qoetten explained they are very concerned with the environmentaI <br />issues, and have actually required others to remove underground <br />tanks. <br />Keeie indicated the risk factor >s the same for botn types of <br />tanks. <br />Jabbour noted that they were told that fiberglass tanks would be <br />approximately double the price. <br />Keeie felt that estimate to be Incorrect, and noted that both <br />fiberglass and steel would be approximately the same price. <br />Keel explained that the tanks now have a 1/2'* thick protective <br />coating end there has been so much new technology in this field <br />to perfect the t^nks. <br />Callahan asked about potential for problems it there is a leak m- <br />ground. He gathered that there ii a move to more above-ground tanks <br />and that Is why the new regulations are being drafted. <br />Keeie noted above-ground tanks are just an option which needs to <br />be eddreesed. He stated that al l the probes on the underground <br />tanks arc accessible through manholes, and guaranteed that they <br />would never have to dig up the tarKs. to repair or replace <br />monitoring equipment. <br />. .. <br />L.. . .
