" <br />1.2,4 <br />1.3 <br />1.3.1 <br />l..‘^,2 <br />1.3.2.1 <br />1.3.3. <br />1.3.4 <br />• •Prospective bidders are cautioned that qualification of any floating <br />dock system is not to be considered as a determination of complete <br />product acceptability and that a pre-qualifled system may be <br />determined by the Engineer as being in need of modification on the <br />basis of subsequently introduced information on Shop Drawings or in <br />the final submitted structural calculations as reviewed by the <br />Engineer. In any case, the system furnished must comply with the <br />design criteria specified herein. <br />DIMENSIONS <br />Ceneral: Pier layout shall be to the configuration shown on the <br />drawings. Widths of piers are to the edge of the piers and do not <br />include rubraiIs and fenders. <br />Pier Widths: Piers shall be of the following widths or within the <br />following ranges: <br />a. Main pier width for piers up to 400 feet in length shall be <br />eight feet. <br />b. Main pier width for piers 400 feet or longer in length shall be <br />10 feet. <br />c. Service pier width shall be 16 feet. <br />d.Minimum finger pier widths shall be 3 feet for 30 and 38 foot <br />long, 4 feet for 45 feet long and 5 feet for 60 foot long <br />fingers piers, respectively. <br />Piers may be up to 3 inches less than the specified widths to allow <br />some tolerance in the manufacturing process. However, the pier <br />width shall be uniform and the 3 inch tolerance does not imply that <br />variations in width over the length of the pier(s) will be <br />tolerated. <br />Pier Lengths: Finger piers shall be 30, 38, 45 and 60 foot long as <br />indicated on the drawings. <br />Clear Widths: Clear widths between adjacent finger piers shall be <br />as follows: <br />a. <br />b. <br />c. <br />d. <br />Adjacent to 30' piers <br />Adjacent to 38' piers <br />Adjacent to 45' piers <br />Adjacent to 60' piers <br />30' <br />35' <br />39' <br />46' <br />If spring piles are indicated on the drawings, clear widths between <br />adjacent finger piers shall be increased by 2 feet. <br />- 3 -
