A.V <br />'^m'iJ: <br />iS'fi' <br />:'<Ht <br />m~r <br />#:*'■ <br />Hennepin County Eurasian Water Milfoil Control Program <br />Statement of Puipose <br />The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners has provided the Hennepin Conservation <br />District with funds to combat infestations of Eurasian Water Milfoil. These funds will be used to <br />provide financial assistance to local governments and community groups in Hennepin County for <br />milfoil control activities. The first applicadon period for these funds is August 3 through August <br />14, 1992. Additional application periods may be established depending upon the number of <br />applications received and the availability of funds. <br />How to Apply <br />Applicants must submit a grant implication and supporting materials to the Hennepin <br />Conservation District by August 14, 1992. Supporting materials include: a cover letter <br />describing the existing conditions and the need for assistance; quotations for services, materials <br />and other related cost estimates; anticipated stan and completion dates for milfoil control <br />activities; copies of DNR permits for the proposed activities^; names, addresses and telephone <br />numbers of persons authorized to sign grant agreements and submit requests for reimbursements; <br />and other materials related to project scope and anticipated outcomes the applicant feels will <br />facilitate the review of the application. If advance payment of grant funds is requested. <br />documentation describing why an advance is necessary must be submitted. <br />m.Eligible Milfoil Control Activities <br />Eligible milfoil control activities include: <br />• Chemical treatments for milfoil control; <br />• Harvesting of milfoil; and <br />• Innovative or experimental methods of milfoil control as scientifically reviewed and <br />accepted by the interagency Eurasian Water Milfoil Task Force. <br />Application for grant funds may be made for eligible milfoil control activities scheduled <br />from September 1, 1992 through August 31, 1993. Requests for*reimbursement for activities <br />prior to September 1,1992 will not be accepted. <br />^Ct^ies of DNR permit applications may be submitted in lieu of the actual permit to facility <br />tite grant application process.
