Under our standard process, violation of any part of the
zoning code is a misdemeanor, with standard maximum penalty of 90 days
In jail and $700 fine. Under this process, we would write a tag and
then have the City Attorney lequest the judge to impose significant
penalties if the violation is not resolved in a reasonable period.
This likely is as effective as any separate system of fines we might
consider.
Council is requested to review the revised ordinance, make
additional revisions if appropriate, and adopt the ordinance per the
revised draft or direct scaff to redraft for your August 10th meeting.
fe ■
m
