Maddrey, a single person, and Steven Sabes, a <br /> single person (hereinafter "the Applicants") are the owners of the property located at 3435 <br /> Eastlake Street within the City of Orono (hereinafter the "City") and legally described as <br /> follows: <br /> The West 50 feet of the East 200 feet of Lot 2, Block 8, BAYSIDE ADDITION <br /> TO LAKE MINNETONKA, Hennepin CounTy, Minnesota. <br /> (hereinafter the "Property"); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicants have made application to the City of Orono for <br /> variances to Orono Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-305 to allow construction of a second <br /> story addition above the existing residence on a lot of 4,975 s.f. in area where a lot azea of <br /> 87,120 s.f. is normally required, and of width 50' at the 929.4' shoreline contour and at the 75' <br /> setback line where a lot width of 200' is normally required, and for side setbacks of 13.9' and <br /> 15.7' from the east and west lot lines respectively, where side setbacks of 30' are normally <br /> required; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicants have applied for a variance to Orono Municipal <br /> . Zoning Code Section 78-1279(1) to allow construction of a second story addition above the <br /> existing residence 52' from the OHW of Lake Minnetonka where a 75' setback is normally <br /> required; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicants have applied for variances to Orono Municipal <br /> Zoning Code Sections 78-305 and 78-1279(2) to allow construction of a second story addition <br /> above the existing residence at a setback of 19.8' from the street lot line where a 50' setback is <br /> normally required by the LR-lA District Standards and a 30' setback is normally required by the <br /> Shoreland Overlay District standards; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due published notice and mailed notice in accordance with <br /> Minnesota Statutes and the Orono, Minnesota, City Code, the Orono Planning Commission held <br /> a public hearing on May 19, 2014 at which times all persons desiring to be heard concerning this . <br /> application were given the opportunity to speak thereon. <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br />
