Date: March 18, 2024 Item: 5.1 <br />Presenter: Melanie Curtis, Planner <br />Section: Public Hearings <br /> <br />Title: #LA24-000008, GreenWood Design Build o/b/o Brenda Iversen, 1850 <br />Lakeside Trl, Variance (Melanie Curtis) <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The applicant is requesting a hardcover variance to install a wider driveway than is permitted <br />within 75 feet of Dickey's Lake Creek. <br />2.MN§15.99 Application Deadline: <br />The application was submitted and considered to be complete on February 19, 2024. The 60-day <br />timeline for review will expire on April 19, 2024. <br />3.Background: <br />The property was platted in 2019 as part of the Willow Bay Sanctuary development. The only <br />access to the buildable area of the property is over Dickey’s Lake Creek and directly through the <br />hardcover restricted zone. City Code allows for a maximum 8-foot wide driveway within the 75- <br />foot setback from protected waters if there is no other access to the property. The new home on the <br />property is nearing completion. The property owner requests a variance to allow the 8 foot wide <br />driveway to be increased to 12 feet in width creating new encroachments and additional hardcover <br />on both sides of the creek.
