Special Event Application, Minnetonka Public Schools <br />The Minnetonka Public Schools have made application for a <br />Solar Boat Regatta, Saturday, 6/20/92 with 6/21/92 as an alter­ <br />nate for bad weather, Gideon’s Day. requesting LMCD waive or <br />reduce fees and deposit due to school project’s limited funding. <br />The executive director said the member.s present at the <br />committee meeting on 3/16/92. suggested collecting the full fee <br />and making a contribution of an equal amount fro«n the Save the <br />Lake Fund. <br />MOTION: Grathwol moved. Doswinkel seconded, to approve a <br />Special Event Permit for the Minnetonka Public Schools for a <br />Solar Boat Regatta on 6/20/92 or 0/21/92. <br />VOTE: Motion carried unanimously. <br />MOTION: Gratliwol moved, Boswinkel seconded, to contribute, <br />from the Save the Lake Fund, to the Minnetonka High School Solar <br />Boat Account, a sum equal to tne Special Event Permit fee charged <br />for the Solar Boat Regatta. <br />VOTE; Motion carried, Rascop voting nay. <br />B. New Wine and Beer License Applications for Al & Alma’s <br />Charter Boat 1. <br />The staff recommends waiving the investigation and investi­ <br />gation fee because of the previous approval of Al & Alma’s other <br />six wine and beer licenses. <br />Rascop asked where the boats are being stored. He mentioned <br />previous problems with the charter boats being stored in unau­ <br />thorized locations. <br />MOTION; Rascop moved. Grathwol seconded, to waive the <br />investigation and investigation fee for Al & Alma’s Charter Boat <br />I wine and beer licenses, contingent on their boats having a <br />legal storage location. <br />VOTE; Motion carried unanimously. <br />Thibault added a Public Hearing will be held <br />these new wine and beer license applications. <br />i n Apri1 for <br />3. Fundraising Proposal - Tonka Wet Spot Corp. <br />The executive director summarized a fund raising proposal by <br />Tonka Wet Spot which offered $I per I-shirt sold to the Save the <br />Lake Fund. The T-shirt slogan, "Locals only. Lake Minnetonka' <br />was deemed not in the public interest and therefore proposed to <br />be declined. The Board concurred without further discussion. <br />■if
