f/K?-’ !>*»*• ‘ -S' .^f f r *m > <br />trv*^''-sll'i'^" <br />lS|!^w.K RBSOLOTION IN SUPPORT OP WECAN'S HOPE 3 GRANT APPLICATION <br />1&ii <br />WHBREASr the HOPE 3 Program is a new program by the U.S. <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development aimed to empower many <br />low-income families to realize the American dream of <br />homeownership; and <br />' WHEREAS, it is in the public benefit to get vacant <br />alfeX residential properties, which have been foreclosed or tax- <br />forfeited, back onto the tax roles and available for new <br />homebuyers; and <br />K-'v WHEREAS, it is in the public benefit to enhance the <br />self-sufficiency of low-income families residing in our city and <br />to enable these families to become first time homebuyers; and <br />i'fe;-: <br />ifeft <br />W»'M". <br />WHEREAS, Westonka Community Action Network (WeCAN) is <br />applying for a $50,000 HOPE, 3 Planning Grant for the purposes of <br />assessing the feasibility of operating a homeownership program <br />for low-income families in this commui i»-y. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the <br />City of Orono supports WeCAN's HOPE 3 Planning Grant application. <br />■mm-m--4’. <br />ii®-. <br />-7 V <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, <br />Minnesota at a regular meeting held April 13, 1992. <br />Barbara A.
