A Fortune 100 <br />transportation, energy and natural resource company, Union Pacific was <br />established in 1862 by an Act of Congress authorizing the transcontinental <br />rail road. <br />After deciding to enter the environmental management industry in the mid- <br />1980's, Union Pacific conducted an exhaustive nationwide search, investigating <br />nearly every major environmental ccmoany in the United States. The result wa_ <br />the selection and acquisition in 1987 of USPCI, precisely what Union Pacific <br />set out to f*’nd - th*^ best, safest, and most technically advanced company in <br />its field. <br />Disposal, Incineration, Treatment, Recycling and Utilization <br />USPCI currently operates two state-of-the-art regulated RCRA waste disposal <br />facilities. The sites, cnosen for their environmental safety, are believed to <br />• I ^ • 4 « *1^ t_ _ . . ^ .A \ A ^ .A ^ ^ ^ •be the most advanced of their Type. They are located at: <br />Grassy Mountain, located in Tooele County, Utah, about SO miles <br />west of Salt Lake City. <br />Lone Mountain, located in Northwest Oklahoma, near the town of <br />Woodward. <br />Additionally, USPCI operates facilities in Utah for disposal or non-hazardous <br />industrial and PCB materials. An additional non-hazardous industrial waste <br />disposal facility is in the development stages in Minnesota. <br />USPCI is developina two incinerator facilities, and has acquired land in Utah, <br />received a county permit and a state permit for the first incinerator in Utah. <br />The Utah facility, designed to burn mainly solids, will accommodate up to 7bO <br />tons of waste per day. The other planned USPCI <br />Oklahoma. The Oklahoma facility will burn between 200 and 300 .ons of <br />hazardous waste daily, primarily solids.
