He is <br />a retired school teacher, football and baseball coach, and has <br />worked for Hennepin County Parks. He noted since he is retired he <br />has more time to dedicate to civic duties. He felt the nature park <br />near him could be upgraded. He noted he had not attended any of <br />tne meetings of the Park Commission. <br />Catherine E. Miller. 1635 Shadvwood Road <br />Miller stated she has lived in Orono for the past 25 years and has <br />come to appreciate the park system even more with her <br />grandchildren. She noted she has not attended any current Park <br />Commission meetings, but went to the meeting where the Commission <br />decided that a dock would not be installed at Sandy Beach. She <br />noted that she had not been notified of that meeting and felt that <br />there should be a dock provided. <br />Miller stated that she has more time to get involved with issues <br />of the City. <br />Mayor Peterson announced that the Council will decide who will be <br />appointed to the Park Commissicn at their February 24th meeting. <br />Goetten noted that many of the applicants had noted comments or <br />suggestions on their application about the park system, and urged <br />them to contact either Gerhardson or Dick Flint to relay those <br />thoughts. <br />Tim Pattrin. 1360 Railroad Avenue - Unable to attend the meeting. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS - MAUREEN BELLOWS, REPRESENTATIVE <br />Mayor Peterson asked Bellows to confirm the Planning Commission’s <br />position regarding the sewer plant property. <br />Be I Iows noted that the CommissI on felt it was inappropriate to sell <br />off 2 lots for residential development, and felt the entire area <br />should Lc retained as a nature area. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Skip Madge. 8iS Forest Arms Lane <br />Madge asked the Council to compare Orono’s ordinance on loose dogs <br />with Mound’s ordinance. <br />V ^ 4, •<
