LHCD Board of Directors December 4, 1991j Li^: Resolution Setting Application Fees for Special Eventsand Watercraft for Hire.Pilisbury moved, Foster seconded, to approve Resolution No./, Kesolution Setting Application Fees for Licenses for SpecialEvents and Watercraft for Hire on Lake Minnetonka. Motion carried. >'-^'^•1Resolution Setting Application Fees for Wine and Non- Intoxicating Halt Liquor <br />A Public Hearing to consider the fees for wine and non- <br />intoxicating malt liquor was held on 12/4/91 at 7 p.m. The <br />subject was tabled to tne Lake Use Committee for consideration of <br />the testimony at the Hearing. <br />F. Save the Lake Recognition Dinner <br />The date of the 1992 Save the Lake Recognition Dinner was <br />set for Wednesday, 2/19/92 at Lord Fletcher's. <br />G. Access Sign Study Sub-Committee <br />Pillsbury moved, Foster seconded, to appoint Foster. Reese, <br />Slocum and an LMLOA representative to a sub-committee of the Lake <br />Use Committee to study access signs. Motion carried. <br />2. ENVIRONMENT* EWM Task Force, Chair Reese <br />The Environment Committee has recommended for discussion <br />purposes a draft concept of a plan of action to prevent the <br />Introduction of Zebra Mussel into,and to prevent the spread of <br />Eurasian Water Milfoil out of. Lake Minnetonka. The plan is in <br />response to a challenge to the LMCD to take a pro active stance <br />on the Zebra Mussel problem. In presenting the -.even point <br />program Reese stressed that it is a concept which can be <br />augmented later. All of the points are necessary if the LMCD is <br />serious about adopting a prevention program. Reese further noted <br />that some of the Draft Concept points are not allowed per current <br />state statute, namely: <br />Point 1) Limit the number of accesses, closing remaining <br />accesses. <br />Require a user-fee cleaning service as a condition <br />for entering a public access. <br />Charging an access fee with the proper "certifi <br />cate’' . <br />Restrict live bait use to bait from certified <br />sources. <br />organizations are unhappy with the concept. <br />Hennepin Parka reported it would have a problem implementing a <br />similar plan on their 17 lakes.
