19 <br /> <br />Personnel Changes <br /> <br />New Officers <br />Melissa Klukas came to us with 5 years prior experience from the <br />Mounds View Police Department. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in <br />criminal justice from St. Cloud State University. Officer Klukas joined the <br />Orono Police department in January of 2023. <br /> <br /> <br />Jennifer Lyrek joined our department in February of 2023. Her prior <br />experience was with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department. <br />Officer Lyrek has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Upper Iowa <br />University. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Nicholas Schwarz is a new police officer and started with the Orono <br />Police Department in July of 2023. He has an Associate of Applied <br />Science Degree from Alexandria Technical College. <br /> <br /> <br />New CSO Cadets <br /> <br />Izzy Bagan joined our CSO-Cadet program in 2023. She is an Orono <br />High School graduate and is currently enrolled in St. Thomas University <br />where she is double-majoring. She is an Orono Police Explorer and <br />since her employment, she has also gone to reserve school and became <br />Emergency Medical Responder certified. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />213
