PAUL, MN 55155-4032 <br />pmoneno (612) 296-4800 file no <br />March 12. 1993 <br />The Honorable Nicholas Duff <br />Mayor, City of Woodland <br />2830 Maplewood Road <br />Woodland, KN 55391 <br />Dear Mayor Duff: <br />APPROVAL OF WOODLAND'S SHORELAND MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE <br />"V <br />r-iA!^ :z:3 <br />RfCciViD <br />RSGiON VI <br />WATERS <br />Thank you for submitting your community's request for flexibility <br />from the statewide shoreland rules and your shoreland management <br />ordinance for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) review. <br />Your letters of September 3, 1992 and October 25, 1993 requested <br />reduction of the building setback, the lot width, the impervious <br />coverage requirement for a limited shoreland area of your city, and <br />the building height requirement. Your letters and attached <br />materials adeqt'.ately describes the situation and justifies your <br />request. i am hereby approving the request for flexibility. <br />Therefore, I am pleased to inform the city that the ordinance is in <br />compliance with Minnesota Rules, Parts 6120.2500 - 6120.3900. <br />Funding available through the adoption grant should used to help <br />defray the city's costs of developing, adopting, and implementing <br />this document. Please contact the Lake Minnetonka Conservation <br />District (LMCD) to follow reimbursement procedures contained in the <br />joint contract agreement between the cooperating cities, LMCD, and <br />DNR. <br />The Department remains available to assist the city with <br />implementation and enforcement of the ordinance. As required by <br />the ordinance, notices of all hearings and notices of decisions for <br />variances, conditional uses, and amendments in shoreland areas must <br />be submitted to the Department. These should be sent directly to <br />Area Hydrologist Ceil Strauss at the following address: DNR * <br />Division of Waters, 1200 Warner Road, St. Paul, MN 55106. <br />Funding may be available for an administrative grants program for <br />cost sharing the costs for implementing, administering, and <br />enforcing the shoreland ordinance on a 50-50 basis.
