5.a. <br />LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />DRAFT <br />Mayor Vern Kaug <br />City of Tonka Bay <br />4901 Manitou Rd <br />Tonka Bay, MN 55331 <br />Dear Mayor Haug, <br />The Lake Access Task Force Access Siting Subcommittee has <br />been provided a copy of LMCD representative Tom Penn s letter <br />of 2/22/93 indicating that city officials are receptive to <br />discussing the possible expansion of public access in the <br />vicinity of the existing Tonka Bay city docks. <br />The Lake Access Task Force, at the recommendation of the <br />Access Siting Subcommittee, encourages city officials to <br />explore how it might accommodate some public car/trailer <br />parking and lake access at the city docks. Since this is an <br />existing public facility, the inclusion of some car/trailer <br />parking spaces may be compatible with the present area use. <br />The subcommittee also notes that the city would expect some <br />support from the DNR in certain improvements wnich would <br />serve to benefit the channel and grounds serving the city <br />docks. - • - <br />Please let us know how the Lake Access Task Force can be of <br />assistance as the city considers its possibilities for <br />1_/ ¥ fski \ t^r narkina in the vicinity of <br />assistance as uue v, r--- - -7 7 7. , <br />including some car/trailer parking in the vicinity of the <br />city docks. <br />Sincerely, <br />LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />James Grathwol <br />Chair <br />_ _
