work spaces. <br />Administrative Offices <br />The administrat.ive area includes offices for a staff of 14, <br />conference room and a large reception/office support area with <br />state-of-the-art work st-icions and computers. The entire building <br />has been wired to acco..imodate computer networking. The offices of <br />the City Administrator, Finance Department, Building and Zoning <br />Department, City Clerk and Public Works Director are located here. <br />Police Department <br />The new facilities have enabled the Police Department to be <br />relocated into the same building as the administrative offices <br />after _ years in a separate building several miles away. This has <br />already resulted in increases in efficiency and opportunities for <br />staff cooperation. The Police and Administration areas share the <br />same phone system and could share the same computer network system. <br />The Police Department has a computerized security system and <br />secured lobby area that has greatly increased safety, especially <br />for the office staff. In addition to the secured lobby area the <br />police building has a high level of security built into all aspects <br />of the police operation. Two sally ports (drive-in entrances) <br />enable secured transfer of arrested persons and evidence from <br />police squads to the holding area or secured evidence area <br />computerized security system serves the evidence room and the <br />booking are.a which is the only access to the two holding cells. <br />The police building also includes a training room which doubles as
