WATER STRUCTURES COMMITTEE February 13, 1993 <br />MOTION; Cochran moved, Carlson seconued. to table the discus <br />sion, without action, until a plan consistent with the committee <br />suggestions offered can be agreed on. Forest Arms to work with <br />the LMCD staff. A presentation may be made to the Board at the <br />2/24 meeting, if an acceptable plan is submitted in time. A slip <br />size worksheet is to be included. <br />VOTE: Motion carried unanimously. <br />E. Lakeside Marina, Maxwell Bay, Orono; public notice advertis <br />ing unauthorized off-i .ke storage for in-out service <br />The committee received a copy of an advertisement being <br />distributed by Lakeside Marina, Inc. offering unlimited in-out <br />launch and park service. Labcock commented that is an unaccept <br />able service at that location. <br />The executive director said Lakeside Marina is not licensed <br />for that type of off-lake storage. They advertised a similar <br />service in 1992 but said they did not have any response. Because <br />of the many boats at that location it is difficult to determine <br />if this activity takes place. <br />Foster would like to see the LMCD attorney obtain a re <br />straining order to stop this immediately. Babcock responded he <br />would want the attorney to come back with a detail of what ordi <br />nances are being violated. Carlson suggested finding out ho.v the <br />City of Orono feels about this as they have jurisdiction over the <br />land use. <br />NOTION: Penn moved, Carlson seconded, to place the Lakeside <br />Marina. Inc. advertising as an agenda item at the next Board <br />meeting with staff putting together recommendations from the LMCD <br />attorney and the City of Orono, working together, for a concept <br />to Slop this type of off lake storage. <br />VOTE: Motion carried unanimously. <br />5. Unrestricted Watercraft Subcommittee - 2/4/93 meeting <br />The committee reviewed the report of the Unrestricted Water <br />craft Subcommittee meeting of 2/4/93 along with a summary of <br />slide storage at multiple dock licensed facilities. <br />Babcock suggested eliminating the words "sailing and in d) <br />on page 2 under the committee recommendation for storage of <br />unrestricted watercraft at commercial, multiple dock sites. The <br />committee members were in agreement that there was no need to <br />specify a type of br./<iing school. <br />MOTION: Babcock moved, Foster seconded, to approve the concept <br />of the Unrestri.'ed Watercraft Subcommittee report with the <br />understanding this will lead to ordinance changes that will <br />affect certain licenses for the 1994 season. <br />VOTE: Motion carried .nanimously. <br />6. Deicing Inspections <br />Thibnult reported all of the deicing locations that are <br />operating have been inspected. Most were in compliance after <br />r
