/5 <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />Mayor and City Council <br />Ron Moorte, City Administrator <br />March 2, 1993 <br />SUBJECT: New City Facilities Open House Plans <br /><V <br />Based on xnput from CounciImembers and from other cities who have <br />recently constructed new facilities, staff is in the process of <br />developing a program for the new f=»cilities grand opening/open <br />house. The basics of the program such as date, time and major <br />activities need to be finalized by March 22nd xn order to be <br />included in the Spring newsletter. The suggested date and schedule <br />of major activities are as follows: <br />Date: Sunuay, May 23rd <br />Schedule cf events: <br />1:0C p.m. - Dedication of Kelley Parkway <br />1:30 p.m. - Grand opening ceremony for the new <br />city facilities <br />- Comments by the Mayor <br />- Introduction of Council <br />- Introduction of Special Guests <br />- Comments from Staff <br />- Comments by Architect <br />- Comments by Construction Manager <br />1:30 - 4:00 p.m. - Open house and tours of the <br />facilities <br />Potential special activities are as follows: <br />1. A local veterans organization raise the first flag. <br />2. High school band and/or choir providing music as part of <br />the program. <br />3. A high school string ensemble providing music in the <br />Council Chambers. <br />Other details of the open house include invitations, programs and <br />refreshments. Based on the Council's preferences and an authorized <br />budget amount, staff will develop a proposal for Council review.
