I <br />i <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />A VARIANCE TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.24, SUBDIVISION 5 (A) <br />FILE #1801 <br />WHEREAS, E. W. Blanch Company, a limited pannership (hereinafter "the <br />applicant") is owner of the property located at 2505 Old Beach Road within the City of Orono <br />(hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 5. Block I, the Marsh at Lafayette, Hennepin County, Minnesota (hereinafter "the <br />property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for a variance to Municipal <br />Zoning Code Section 10.24, Subdivision 5 (A) to permit the construction of a residence that will <br />be 34 ’10" in heicht where only a 30’ height is allowed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono. <br />Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1801. <br />The property is located in the RR-IB Lakeshore Residential Zoning District, <br />requiring 1 .icre in area. The propeny consists of 3.16 acres. <br />3.The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on February 16. !993 <br />an<l recommended approval of the proposed variance ba.sed ufH^n the following <br />haidships and findings: <br />The proposed house will be set back 267 ’ from the Old Beach Road right- <br />of-way. The total height of the proposed structure would be perceived as <br />lower than the e.sisting adjacent structures that are located at 35’ and 50’ <br />setbacks from the street. <br />Page 1 of 5
