The City of Orono is an Equal Opportunity Employer <br /> <br />CITY OF ORONO <br /> <br />Position Title: Golf Course Superintendent <br />Document Date: February 7, 2024 <br />Department: Parks and Facilities <br />Accountable to: Parks and Facilities Superintendent <br />FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-exempt <br /> <br />Nature of Work <br />This position performs a wide range of tasks to maintain the city-owned golf course. This <br />position will require the use of a variety of equipment and tools. This position will support the <br />Parks and Facilities Department particularly in the golf off-season. This position is under the <br />Parks and Facilities Department and will provide support when required. <br /> <br />Supervision Received and Exercised <br />This position is supervised by the Parks and Facilities Superintendent. This position will <br />provide supervision and oversite to crews of seasonal or part-time golf course maintenance <br />workers. <br />Examples of Work <br />Essential functions listed below are intended as illustrations of the various types of work that <br />may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the <br />work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. <br /> <br />• Performs the daily, periodic, and emergency maintenance and repair activities to maintain <br />the City’s golf course, and public facilities in safe and operational/useable condition. <br />• Inspects, maintains, and or repairs golf course equipment, grounds, and golf course <br />facilities, etc. <br />• Maintains a variety of records relating to inspections and maintenance activity <br />• Communicates with the Parks Superintendent to discuss conditions of facilities, <br />maintenance plans, and scheduled events. <br />• Ensures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking <br />equipment and tools after use. <br />• Performs routine maintenance on city parks, trails, plow routes, city grounds, open spaces <br />and facilities and equipment. <br />88
