The Planning Coimnlssion reviewed the <br />revised proposal s\ibmitted for 2 lots rather than 3 lots as <br />previously proposed. The rex>ort received from Jim Anderson, <br />of the Hennepin Soils Conservation District revealed that <br />the proposal would meet the requii’ed dry land area for two <br />lots. Mr. Gridley was advised that an individual on-site <br />septic system would need to be approved by the City Engineer <br />before a building permit would be issued. The Zoning Admin <br />istrator presented Mr. Gridley wl.th a copy of a bill for boat <br />rental in the amount of $14.50 incurred by Jim Anderson to be <br />reimbursed by the applicant. Mr. French of the Hennepin <br />County Park Reserve was present. He was interested in knowing <br />Orono^B position for projected park use of Big Island. It <br />was their understanding that the City of Orono would be willing <br />to utilize and do all that it could to facilitate the acquisition <br />of Big Island for the park. <br />Mayor Van Nest was present. He stated that several years <br />ago Orono, by j*esolution, supported the Park Reserve District <br />procuring as mueli as possible on Big Island end to some day <br />turn ns much of Big Island as possible into a park for the <br />Metropolitan area. Mayor Van Nest further stated that Orono <br />still supports this position and they would be willing to <br />reaffirm same.
