Olson to <br />Primus-stated still no license application and <br />that any operation without license would be <br />violation of city ordinance. <br />12-13-76 Status report to Council-no application from <br />Ski-Tonka yet. The Council instructed the <br />staff to tag for violation of licensing ordinance. <br />12-18&19-76 Weekend warm (up to 50®), no skiing. <br />12-22-76 Inspector on routine inspection noticed skiing <br />in progress. Received assistance from police- <br />officer #512 (Cheswick) met inspector on site <br />at 2:30 p.m. We confirmed operation underway as <br />follows: 27 cars in parking lot, 1 school bus <br />(Minneapolis Public School Dist. #317), 4 ski <br />tows operating, and chalet open on both levels. <br />We counted over 60 people, mostly children, on <br />slopes at the top and south of the chalet. <br />Additional skiers were on slopes to the north of <br />the chalet. TAG ISSUED #32-004560 for violation <br />of #69AP20, operating a ski area without a license. <br />Tag given to Mr. Lee Primus on site at 2:45 p.m. <br />He refused to sign the tag. He complained of the <br />City harrassing the operation. He said, "He <br />thought" the insurance was in force, (He was told <br />that we had no such record), that he was expecting <br />an inspection "as soon as we change a tow rope <br />motor" (no date given). <br />12-28-76 Site Inspection: 4 tow ropes operating at 3:00 <br />p.m., at least 25 people on the property skiing <br />or in the chalet, 15 cars in the parking lot. <br />Photo taken of skiers on the slope and using tow <br />rope.
