The Gonnission turned their attention to Richard Roi^lett's petition for a variance on lakeshoxe and street setback in order to put an addition onto his existing home. He ex plained that the addition of 36* x 28* would consist of a dining xoan and a garage. The proposed lakeshoxe setback would be 66 ft. and 23 ft. from the street property line. He stated that there was no other place on the lot to do this ex cept as presented. As a coo4)ensation to the City, he volunte- ei^ to remove an existing 20* x 20* concrete patio facing the lakeshoxe and replace it idth an open redwood deck. The Zoning Administrator estimated that this would result in a net decrease of 200 sq. ft. of hardcover. Hake moved, McDonald seconded, that the Planning Comnission reconraend to the Council approval of the lakeshoxe and street setback variance request of Ridiard Rowlette conditional upon removal of the 20* x 20* concrete deck being replaced by a ncn-pervious type deck because the City would gain a 200 sq. ft. decrease in hardcover.
