m-: <br />* <br />< u <br />■V. 9 <br />; .i <br />,f> <br />^ i <br />i <br />CITY OF ORONO, NANNESOTA <br />REGULAR PLANNING CO^MISSION MEETING HELD JULY 5, 1977 <br />Orono Planning Conmission met on the above date with the <br />following members present: Acting Chairwoman McDonald <br />^mbers Hosfield, Guthrie, Hurr and Hassel (arrived 7:40). <br />Also present: Asst. Zoning Administiator A1 Olson. <br />Hosfield moved, Guthrie seconded, that the minutes of the <br />Planning Commission meeting of June 20, 1977, be approved <br />as corrected. <br />Motion - Ayes (4), Nays (0). <br />Because of a lack of representation. Chairwoman McDonald <br />postponed the public hearing scheduled for 7:30 until <br />later in the meeting. <br />I^. Ekeberg was present and is requesting approval of a <br />lot area and width variance for an addition to the lake <br />side of existing home. A variance was approved in 1974 <br />home. The Asst. Zoning Administrator stated <br />that the addition would meet the required side yard and <br />lakeshore setbacks. <br />After a brief disaission, Guthrie moved, Hurr seconded <br />to reconinend approval of the lot area and width variance <br />given the fact that the addition would not obstruct the <br />neighbor's view of the lake and it does not encroach on <br />the lakeshore setback requirement. <br />Motion - Ayes (5), Nays (0). <br />Asst. Zoning Administrator explained that applicant is <br />requesting a lot area variance for proposed addition to <br />fisting home. All setback requirements would be met. <br />Ihe applicant has indicated that he would eventually <br />remo\^ existing garage and replace with a new garage north <br />Mr. Uloth was present. Planning Commission addressed the <br />removal of the existing garage. Applicant expressed his <br />^tentions to remove garage within three years if <br />fimncially about to do so. Commission encouraged this <br />application stood on its own merits.’ <br />Planning Commissiqn advised that the existing three <br />separate parcels would need to be combined into one <br />iM^iicant agreed to do so. <br />After a brief discussion, Hosfield mcved, Hurr seconded <br />to recommend approval on the condition that the lots be' <br />combined and proposed addition meets all setback require­ <br />ments.
