Assistant Planning & Zoning AdministrSWj^ ^ November 18. 1993 V Subject:#1882 John OSulIivan/O ’Sullivans. 2420 Shady wood Road - Amended Commercial Site Plan Approval - Resolution List of Exhibits A B Resolution Memo and Exhibits of 11/8/93 Resolution No. 2229 adopted by the City Council on July 27. 1987 approved a commercial site plan for 2420 Shady wood Road. That approval required that ^ drive on the north side of the building be posted as a fire lane per the site plan referenced as "85-018 revised 6/30/87". That fire lane had never been striped or marked, however, a portable "fire lane i*gn has been in use for a number of years. In response to staffs recent request to stripe the fire lane per the 1987 site plan. Mr. O’Sullivan applied for an amended commercial site plan approval to eliminate the fire lane. This was reviewed by the Plan*iing Commission at their October meeting, where they referred it to Council with a recommendation that the Police Chief review the matter. Prior to your last meeting. Mr. O’Sullivan met with the Police Chief and Building and Zoning Department staff, and an agreement suitable to all panies was reached regarding revised dimensions and location for the fire lane. At your November 8 meeting. Council directed staff to bring back a resolution for amending the 1987 commercial site plan approval. That resolution is attached for Council approval. Staff Recommendation Staff recommends approval of the revised comi lercial site plan fire lane requirements for O’Sullivan's at 2420 Shadywciod per the attached resolution.
