DNR: <br />Contact was made with John Fax of the DNR and the appropriate information <br />submitted. We were issued the Appropriation and Use of Water Permit 86-6178, <br />which authorizes the pumping and discharge of 11,000,000 gallons yearly. <br />2. PCA: <br />Discharge application forms were completed and sent to Gary Kimble of the <br />MPCA. The MPCA is presently seeking authorization to issue a general permit <br />program for discharges less than 100,000 gallons per day which constitutes a <br />negligible environmental impact. Per my phone call with Mr. Kimble, August 4, <br />1986, we have satisfied the necessary requirements, and the PCA will advise if <br />any changes occur. <br />3. LMCD: <br />Clifford Keep, acting as our agent, has corresponded with Frank Mixa and <br />the LMCD. Mr. Mixa stated that they have no jurisdiction in this area, and <br />feels the other regulating agencies will answer any environmental concerns. <br />The following information has been gathered from experts involved with <br />geothermal heating systems: <br />1. & 2. Average dally discharge/peak discharge (in gallons pef hour), and <br />velocity of discharge as it enters lake through perforations: <br />These two items are explained on the same graph and also on the <br />information submitted by Terra-Therm, Inc. ^ <br />Supply line specifications — casings, size, depth of well, aquifer tapped, <br />effects of water table: e,{U,-f5 H , t <br />The supply of water will be taken from a private well. The well consists <br />of 8 — 6” casing and a total depth of 322 feet. The aquifer tapped is the <br />Prairie du Chien Jordan aquifer. In item //9, the well record states that <br />static water level is 65 feet. This means water is sitting in the casing 65 <br />feet below land surface. Item #10 states that water level remained at 65 feet <br />after a 20 hour period of pumping at 200 gallons per minute. Conclusion: <br />neglible drawdown after extended pumping schedule.
