backgrounds and community interests.Committee members were selected <br />0 Individuals <br />0 Neighbors <br />from the following areas of interest: <br />0 Horticulture <br />0 Recreation <br />0 Friends of Mrs.Hoppe <br />0 City of Orcno <br />0 Lake Minnetonka Community <br />The committee met as a whole on several occasions to carry out their <br />task.This report is a result of their concentrated effort and <br />represents general consensus of what the Committee determined best for <br />the District and for the citizens of the area while consistent with the <br />interpretations of Mrs.Hoppe's will. <br />The Committee's deliberations included the following; <br />0 Review of Mrs. Hoppe's will and court order and discussion of <br />how the Park could be developed and operated within the spirit <br />of the will. <br />0 Review of the 1978 Plan prepared for the Park <br />0 Inventory of other gardens in the Metropolitan Area <br />0 Discussion of potential themes. <br />0 Presentations by Ray Ford, the Noerenberg's Gardener, and Aria <br />Lindberg, currently the gardener for the Hennepin County Park <br />Reserve District at the park regarding their perception of <br />current operations and future development. <br />0 Review of the history and importance of estate gardens in the <br />Lake Minnetonka area and Eddie Phelps role in the planning and <br />development of these gardens. <br />1
