Establish a maximum proposed 1994 Tax Levy for the truth in <br />taxation budget hearing(s). <br />2. Establish a preliminary budget for the truth in taxation <br />hearing(s'. <br />DISCUSSION , . ^ <br />The Council has established the truth in taxation public hearing <br />for Wednesday, December 1st at 7:00 p.m., and .'he subsequent <br />hearing for Monday, December 13th at 7:00 p.m. <br />As required by state law the City must adopt a proposed maximum tax <br />levy by September 15th and certify it to the county auditor. The <br />City must also adopt a proposed budget amount. Tne proposed levy- <br />adopted can be reduced duriiig the public hearings but cannot be <br />increased. <br />For the proposed tax levy collectible in 1994 the City is required <br />to subtract HACA (homestead and agricultural credit aid) before <br />certifying the levy to the county auditor. The attached proposed <br />resolution reflects that change in the certified amounts. <br />Requested Action: That Council adopt the proposed maximum tax levy <br />for 1994 and the pioposed 1994 General Fund expenditure budget as <br />presented. <br />seconded by to adopt ResolutionPROPOSED MOTION - Moved by - - - - - - -_ _ _. -- - -- - - - - <br /># approving the proposed maximum 199.) tax levy collectible in <br />1^4 of $l,916,b37, and to establish the proposed 1994 General Find <br />expenditure budget in the amount of $3,215,090.
