The application consists of three alternatives. Each
CTie varies in the extent of riprap and seawall. The project would require some
informed me the dredging consists of maintenance dredging
ouy. I have no way of confirming this without engineering reports. I also don't
know the extent of dredging proposed.
I don|t knw exactly which alternative they mi^t favor. We might determine idiich
one might have the least intact before making a decision.
The elevation plan of the proposed riprap indicates using the existing seawall as a
siqjTOrt for tte proposed ripriq>. The plan does indicate, however, that the seawall
would be cut down below the water level. If the existing seawall is deteriorating,
how long will it support the riprap?
Wiile reviewing this matter, I ran across some interesting facts regarding the
lagoon. The tax records indicate the lagoon to be a separate parcel owned by
James. Do the oAer property owners adjoining this lagoon parcel have the
rij^t to dredge and riprap this subject property?
A copy of the plans and proposal have been sent to Greg Frank for review and
connents. A copy of his r^x>rt is attached.
Here again is a proposal which will make it impossible for me to satisfy all con
cerned parties. This should be scheduled as a work session item for the Planning
Ccnmission meeting scheduled for April 4, 1977 and as an action item for the
Planning Comnission meeting of April 18, 1977. Mr. Hartmaim feels we could
dispense with the work session review as many of the Planning Conmission and
Council nembers are familiar with the problem. Surrounding landoimers are
notified of the meeting when the proposal is sdieduled as an action item. If
we act on the proposal when it is scheduled as a work session item, we dm't
have time to s^d out these notices. This would also consist of a conclusion on
part that the proposal would not require some review and site investigation
before the Planning Comnission makes a recomnendation.
STAFF - March 28, 1977
nt several hours with Ron Hameck of the ENR and John Holmquist of the
this a.m. We discussed various dredging proposals and the effect the
current water level would have on future proposals. Mr, Hameck eiqpressed con
cem about the potential for numerous dredging applications.
report, I've been approached by Brauer and Associates
re^rduig a similar proposal for Carman's Cove. It appears we miAt have a
rash of these types of proposals this year because of the low lake level.
: j
wry. ■
-m
I
t|
'rr-:fhd
fd
■
lOMlQi OP PB<• V*
Legal Description
APPLICANT Walter
Associc
H.
