Gerhardson, Public Works Director <br />July 21, 1993 <br />uUNCILMEEHNe <br />AUG 9 1993 <br />cmroF ' il' <br />SUBJECT: County Road 6 Upgrade <br />Recently the City of Orono received notice from Hennepin County that they are planning to <br />upgrade County Road 6 from State Highway 12 southerly and westerly to County Road 90 m <br />Independence. <br />Ron Moorse and I have met with the staff at Hennepin County to review the plan. <br />It is Hennepin County’s intent to acquire right-of-way in 1994 with construction in 1995. <br />Because Hennepin County is applying for funding for <br />constructing a bike/hike trail on that part of County Road 6 from Highway 12 to McCulley <br />Road. <br />Atuehed for review is correspondence from Hennepin County regarding the improvement. This <br />item was reviewed by the Park Commission at their July meeting. Attached are the draft <br />minutes of July Park Commission meeting stating their comments on the matter. <br />It is recommended that Council appoint one or two members of the Council to work with City <br />and County staff to review the concept of the project as we did on County Roa
