COMMUNITY COLLABORATION TASK FORCE <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />PROPOSED <br />COMMUNITY COLLABORATION COUNCIL <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE <br />THE COMMUNITY COLLABORATION COUNCIL WILL STUDY <br />THE ON GOING WANTS AND NEEDS OF THE DIVERSE <br />COMMUNITY SERVICE DELIVERY SYSTEM WITHIN DISTRICT <br />284. THE COUNCIL WILL ACTIVELY PROMOTE COORDINATED <br />PLANNING AND COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT. <br />The following recommendation from the Community Collaboration Task <br />Force is a result of the Community Space meeting held in February. The <br />broader scope of this recommendation is from a consensus of task force <br />members that believe cooperative and collaborative efforts are needed on <br />a number of issues in our learning community. The proposed Community <br />Collaboration Council would be an independent entity that will use the <br />boundaries of District 284 as the defined community. Communication <br />between the Collaboration Council representatives and their respective <br />boards/organizations is a key element for improving the health and well <br />being of the families of our community. We acknowledge that every <br />community citizen is a part of a family. Thus space, learning, physical <br />well being and numerous other qualities of community life would be <br />considered by the council based upon the needs that come to the forefront <br />at any given time. <br />The Board of Education, the eight municipal councils, and participating <br />community organizations would advocate potential collaborative projects. <br />Commitment to listen to and act with the Community Collaboration <br />Council representatives Is critical to the success of this venture. The <br />Collaboration Council can begin to unify our community In addressing and <br />solving unmet needs in a cost effective and efficient manner.
